When we moved into our current home, we had a solid entry door and a dark foyer. Swapping out the door for a new glass entry door was the perfect solution for transforming the look and feel of our home’s entrance, while inviting more natural light into the space.
The simple switch flooded the foyer with beautiful natural light and visually expanded the space, making it feel more open and airy. We purchased our ready to install mahogany slab entry door from Wayfair.
If you're considering swapping out your entry door, here are things to consider when selecting the a glass entry door:
Privacy: If privacy is a concern, opt for frosted or tinted glass options. For our entry door, we used a waterfall glass that makes the transform the view of our front yard into a watercolor.
Energy Efficiency: Look for doors with double or triple-pane glass that provide insulation. Low-E coatings can also help in minimizing heat loss and managing the sun’s heat and UV exposure.
Security: Select doors with tempered or laminated glass that is harder to break.
Style: Match the door’s design and frame with the architectural style of your house for a cohesive look.
